On his summer holidays, Massimo Ambrosini gave an interview to Corriere dello Sport-Stadio: “I don’t agree – said the Milan captain - with those who say that we failed to hit all our targets. The team achieved what was asked of us even though among ourselves we know we could have done better. We lost the league title when we played Barcelona in the quarter finals, when we didn’t have much mental energy.”

The captain continues: "Milan have come to a fundamental turning point; the most important one that I can remember. It’s the biggest change since I’ve been at the club, really massive. Come 9 July, I’ll be prouder than ever to walk into the changing room as captain. We can win or we can lose but we know how to rejoice and to move people. We are Milan, with the pride and the desire that sets us apart. I hold Ibra in high esteem and I have a lot of affection for him because he’s a winner and a good man. His ways are not always the best but he does to stimulate himself and his team mates”.
