BELGIUM/ STANDARD, Bjarnason's agent: "I'll speak with Pescara"

The agent of midfielder Birkir Bjarnason is to have discussions with Italian club Pescara about the possible transfer of the Icelandic international to the Serie A club.

Bjarnason currently playes for Belgian club Standard Liege but his agent, Jim Solbakken, will meet with Pescara officials to discuss a possible transfer.

„We will use the next few days to see if this is anything we should be considering. I‘m now on my way to Italy to discuss with Pescara,“ Solbakken said to Icelandic football website 433.is.

„This is my first official meeting with the club but we have been talking over the phone for a few weeks.“

„Bjarnason loves life at Standard and he is very happy there. He believes he is going to be playing regularly, but when you get a phone call from the Serie A and the club shows a lot of interest, it‘s an opportunity you have to take a look at.“

„Birkir is not aiming to leave Standard, but in football you never know. I will talk with Pescara and then we will see.“
