Sheffield Wednesday have signed Slovenia international midfielder Nejc Pecnik subject to international clearance.

Pecnik has put pen to paper on a two-year contract at Hillsborough.

The 26-year-old is a versatile winger who can play down either flank. He can also ply his trade up front.

Pecnik began his career with hometown club NK Dravograd before moving to Slovenian top-flight side NK Celje.

He was Celje’s leading marksman during the 2007-08 campaign with 14 league goals and moved to Czech outfit Sparta Prague on loan the following summer.
