After extending his contract with Napoli, 25 year old forward Edinson Cavani has declared: "President De Laurentiis and I have met during the Olympic games, and since then everything was clear for both of us. Remaining in Naples is not a question of money, though they are important as football is a job for us, but a choice made with the heart. This is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and the fans are unique. We have considered all these factors with my agents and my family, and I have decided to remain".
