Here’s what the general manager of Ac Milan, Adriano Galliani had to say after this evening’s Champions league action:

"The goal from Mexes was wonderful, one of the best I’ve seen in my 26 years here. Maybe even better than Van Basten’s goal against Gothenburg. Marco will be at the San Siro on Sunday, 20 years after that strike. We’ve had a tough time of it lately with results that didn’t arrive after in a tough autumn after a tough summer. This result will keep us up with the nobility of Europe, it was an important target. I missed El Shaarawy’s goal as I was taking with Eddy Merchx. I missed Pato’s goal as well as I was already in the changing rooms. Europe is such an important objective for us and even with all the problems we’ve had we’re through to the last 16. This club hs had an international culture since the European Cup on 1963. We have deep roots in international football. We’re the club that has won more than any other andwe can’t let our heads drop. You have to be patient with young players. De Scilgio set up El Shaarawy, both players born in 1992. I don’t know how many toerh clubs in the Champions league can say that. I spoke to Doctor Tavana about Pato but I don’t want to speak about medical matters.”
