Andrea Pirlo believes last night’s victory over Chelsea will give the Bianconeri an added boost ahead of a testing run of upcoming fixtures.

Juventus took plenty of plaudits for their performance against the defending European champions and will seek to maintain their momentum with positive results against Milan, Torino and Shakhtar.

Reflecting on the 3-0 win over Chelsea, Pirlo said: “It was a magnificent evening, we needed that kind of victory to take a step towards qualification, even though we know we still haven’t achieved anything yet and the last game against Shakhtar will be decisive.”

“Beating the reigning European champions has given us increased awareness of our strength, we’ve always been convinced but we’re even more so now.”

The midfielder concluded by considering Sunday’s return to his former stomping ground, the San Siro.

“It’s a special game as far as I’m concerned. We know we’ve done well up until now and that Milan have had a few difficulties, but we just want to remain focused on ourselves.”
