RB LEIPZIG, Rangnick: "I turned down VARDY 3 years ago"

Interviewed by Swiss paper Blick, RB Leipzig manager, Ralf Rangnick, revealed: "Three years ago a middleman got in touch with me from England. He told me he had a skilled player who would have been fit for me, who maybe, however, would have been too old. It was Jamie Vardy, and I told him actually he was a bit old for our standards. Having seen the way he plays, he'd have been fit for us". English international forward Vardy (turning 30 next January 11), a key player for Leicester City in last season Premier League conquer, is currently on a deal with Foxes until June 2020.
