West Ham will turn down the option to sign Simone Zaza permanently, according to his father and agent.
The Italy international has failed to make a mark since moving to the London Stadium on loan from Juventus, failing to score in 11 appearances for the Hammers.
As such, the 25-year-old had been linked with a move to Valencia, although Cesare Prandelli’s resignation put paid to a move to the Mestalla.
A return to parent club Juventus now looks to be Zaza’s only route out of his hellish spell in east London, although his father Antonio Zaza confirmed other clubs in Italy may be interested.
“There were open talks, Valencia interest was concrete,” he told Tuttomercatoweb.com.
Asked whether a return to Juventus was on the cards, he added: “We are calm and we are looking around. Some Italian sides have asked Simone.
“I can say he will come back playing in Serie A. Fiorentina or Genoa? It's too soon to say. We will see."
