After having spent last season playing for Kazakh side FC Kairat, Ukrainian half-back/centre-back Anatoliy Tymoshchuk announced quitting professional football. Turning 38 next March 30, Tymoshchuk collected several club and individual honours through many years spent playing for Bayern Munich (whom he won a UEFA Champions League with in 2012/13), Zenit Saint Petersbourg, and Shakhtar Donetsk. Tymoshchuk, who kept playing for Ukrainian senior national team up until last Euro 2016 campaign, might be soon joining back Zenit themselves, in order to become an assistant coach for his mentor, Mircea Lucescu.
