Asked by Sport Bild about Manchester United having tried to sign Bayern Munich and German national team star forward Thomas Müller (27), Die Roten financial partner Jan-Christian Dreesen: "There really was such a thing. Then came a fax from England. For us, however, a sale of Thomas Müller was never discussed. If a player fits us, we would be stupid to give him a short-term prospect of a record profit, and to weaken him". Currently on a deal with Bavarian giants until June 2021, Müller is a dream target for Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Barcelona FC as well.
