Former Newcastle star Ben Arfa has been left fuming at his treatment by boss Unai Emery which leaves him facing playing in the fourth tier of French football. Emery has sent him to train with the club’s second string after deciding he no longer features in his first team plans. The 30-year-old is way down the pecking list for a starting role following the transfer window captures of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. But his lawyer has issued a public warning that he will begin legal action against PSG because his treatment breaks French football rules stating players have to be given access to the level of training they are contractually oblige to receive.

Jean-Jacques Bertrand said: “Legally I think the club is violating the Professional Football Charter. I informed the club by email and advised that we do not accept the situation. Depending on the response we will seek action from the league’s disciplinary committee.”
