RB Leipzig have no intention of allowed Naby Keita to join Liverpool early, according to the club’s sporting director.

The Guinea international has agreed to move to Anfield on July 1, 2018, but reports have claimed the Reds could bring that forward it they pay the Bundesliga club a premium.

However, speaking to Leipziger Volkszeitung, Ralf Rangnick refuted such claims.

“Even if we should not reach the knockout stages of Champions League, it would make no sense to allow Naby to join Liverpool earlier,” he said.

“We want to qualify for Europe again and we need Naby for that.”
