Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez turned down a lucrative move to Manchester United last month, reports Marca. At the start of August, United were willing to activate Lucas’ €80m buyout clause and offered to double his salary if he moved to Old Trafford.

The player is understood to have mulled over the offer for a few days before eventually turning it down in order to stay at Atletico, where he came through the ranks.
