Interviewed by Corriere dello Sport, Mario Giuffredi, agent of Fiorentina left-back Cristiano Biraghi (26), who scored Italy's last match, against Poland, winning goal, stated: "Corvino asked me to bring Cristiano to Fiorentina on August 15, 2017. It was a rush negotiation. First I told the player he was signed by Cagliari; then I revealed him it actually was Fiorentina, and he nearly passed out. Inter Milan keen on him? I don't know, they respect Cristiano very much. Ausilio didn't fail him two years, Cristiano just wasn't ready. He hadn't developed the personality he did at Fiorentina. AC Milan thought about him under previous management. But now we are only focusing on Viola, which, by the way, we are very close to extend for. He can become the new Fabio Grosso".
