Trapattoni feels Ireland can take heart from Chelsea'sunexpected win as they face Spain knowing defeat would knock them out after they lost their opening match to Croatia.

"Every game in this Euro could be a surprise. We have to believe this," said the Italian.

Anything is possible

"We know how difficult this is going to be because Spain are the world champions and they have very big players.

"But nobody gave Chelsea any hope when they played Barcelona.
"In the Champions League Final nobody thought Chelsea would do it. They had four or five players missing.

"Bayern Munich had 17 corners to Chelsea's one but Chelsea won.

"That is football, anything is possible."
