Before participating in yesterday’s training, Mattia De Sciglio took some time out to speak to Milan Channel. He first touched on his fitness, “I am feeling better. I am recovering from a thigh muscle problem. The scan two days ago was negative and yesterday I was allowed to train.”

Mattia encapsualed the moment he is experiencing, “This year I know I’ll have more chance of playing. This is obviously a good thing for me. I have blended into the squad a lot more. The players are relaxes, they work hard and work well. There is no tension and nobody is on edge. I still have a lot to learn and training alongside great players will bring my game on no end. I did well in the last few matches last season, but I must keep up my concentration and work even harder."

Next season De Sciglio will wear the number 2 shirt, “It came out of the blue, really. I knew it was free and when Vittorio Mentana called me I said ‘Yes, I’ll have it’. Although the number on your back may be just a number, I can’t hide that wearing the number 2 on the pitch is quite an experience.”
