A very cynical France team took full advantage of Mats Hummel's mistake who put the ball in his own net, to capitalize and beat Germany 1-0 in the last match of Group F. This is a crucial victory, given the degree of difficulty of a group that includes Portugal and Germany, with the Portuguese already on 3 points after they beat Hungary 3-0 earlier in the day.

France's all-star trident Griezmann, Benzema and Mbappe did not have a great impact on the match, while les Bleus midfield proved to be as solid as ever. For his part, Germany played a pretty underwhelming first half, but was able to pick up the pace in the second half and create some chances to Lloris' goal, but for the most part the French defense was able to withstand Germany's attempts without too much trouble.

In the post-game interviews, French manager Didier Deschamps and midfielder Adrien Rabiot expressed their satisfaction with the performance and the result, while German skipper Joachim Low and players Joshua Kimmich and Toni Kroos showed a bit of worry for their next two games.
