Chelsea FC has suffered its first defeat of the season in the Premier League. Manchester City appropriately took revenge for last season's lost Champions League final by winning 0-1 at Stamford Bridge. Romelu Lukaku barely appeared in the piece and Kevin De Bruyne also played a fairly anonymous match.

In London, the first half was not much, that was mainly due to the defensive attitude of the home team. After the break came the winning goal from Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian managed to demolish the blue wall by poking in behind goalkeeper Edouard Mendy through the leg of midfielder Jorginho, with the necessary luck. Chelsea tried to come back to a tie, but goalkeeper Ederson kept his goal clean on behalf of City.

Lukaku often played on an island due to the approach of coach Thomas Tuchel and also had quite a hard time with his opponent Ruben Dias. De Bruyne was again played in a pretty high role and wasted a lot of energy with pressure. He was also taken off halfway through the first half.
