While Manuel De Luca, just signed by Sampdoria, is likely to be joining second-tier side Perugia soon, on a loan spell, Blucerchiati management, which might end up being a forward short, are considering having a run at 30-year old former Italian international striker Simone Zaza. Coming from an overall very underwhelming three season-long Torino tenure, former Juventus, West Ham, Valencia and Sassuolo hitman, on his hand, would be more than happy to join back "Samp", which he used to play for in 2010/11, back when his pro career was just taking off.

Still on a deal with Granata until June 2023, Atalanta alumni, throughout last year and a half, was inquired about by a whole pack of clubs around Europe, including Bologna, Cagliari, Fiorentina, Genoa, Galatasaray, UD Levante, Lokomotiv Moscow, and Spartak Moscow. Carrying with himself a 1.7 million euros, kind of oversized compared to his current status as a player, Zaza is meaning to start anew elsewhere anyway.

Hitting his own career peak back in summer 2016, when Antonio Conte, Italian senior national team head coach back then, used to line him up as a regular throughout Euro 2016 campaign, Zaza's career went downhill ever since. Across his club pro course, the 1991-born hitman capped 318 times overall in official games, scoring 97 goals therein.
