Nzonzi passes medical check-up in Qatar
Steven Nzonzi is one step closer to joining Al-Rayyan SC. As Gianluca Di Marzio reports, the 32-year-old passed the medical check in Qatar. The club offers him a contract for one year with a salary of three million. The Frenchman is currently under contract with AS Roma but will not be considered by Jose Mourinho.
In Qatar, the transfer window is open until September 30th. Whether Nzonzi will switch to Al-Rayyan by then depends primarily on the Roma. The former international is still demanding half of his outstanding salary from the Italians. The Roma have so far rejected this.
On 14 August 2018, Nzonzi signed for Serie A club Roma for an initial fee of €26.65 million, plus performance-related clauses that could be worth an additional €4 million.
Nzonzi was loaned to Turkish side Galatasaray for the 2019–20 season on 16 August 2019.
