Commenting upon Olivier Giroud's recent statements, displaying his will to leave Chelsea as soon as possible, Blues boss Maurizio Sarri, approached by media after having achieved Europa League semifinals pass, stated: "The club has got an option on the deal with Giroud. We sit and talked about it just two days ago, and we decided we are going to trigger such option. Therefore, the player is going to stay put next season, and he can't do anything about it". 32-year old French international striker and WC 2018 winner clarified he's willing to get a regular starting position, and, to this end, was linked to a move back to Ligue 1.
