Commenting upon last night victory over Hellas Verona, AC Milan boss, Marco Giampaolo, stated: “The team played cleverly, after getting 11 against 10. We were fully focused, and did not take any unnecessary risks. There are many areas where we can improve. There is no such thing as a perfect squad in the middle of September.
Piątek is relaxed. I saw that he was feeling good, as I told you before the match. He just needs to remain calm. Biglia is a leader, a strong player, he knows how to handle himself on the pitch. I thought he could play, due to his resilience in difficult matches. Suso is a great player – his dribbling, his first touch into the space. When you play against teams that close the space down, you need players like him. Paquetá is a bit messy in that position, but he has to work on it, I have to help him develop into a complete player. He needs to understand when to play it safe, and when he can take risks. Çalhanoglu is one of those players who can help against teams that sit deep. I'd struggle to go without him.
I preferred Verona in Lecce last Sunday; this time, they just settle for preventing us from playing. We were good at tiring them out. I told the boys that sooner or later we would find a way through. I am working on improving that, it is a collective thought. We must learn to dominate matches and to dictate the tempo of matches. But there are many aspects which we need to improve, it will take time".
