Facing Zenit Saint Petersbourg in a few hours, Lyon winger Maxwel Cornet stated: "As an individual, it's true that it was a pretty good campaign. I have good memories of last season. I think in particular of the two matches against Manchester City, when I scored in our victory in the first leg (1-2) and I scored a double at home, in front of our fans (2-2) . From a collective point of view, we had two great performances and, overall, our result was pretty good despite our elimination in the round of 16.

Ours is a balanced group. There are strong teams, and the fans will be entitled to exciting matches. It motivates us to face such teams but, honestly, even if they will be difficult to play, they are all winnable. We could have come across a more complicated group. Yes. I think we will finish at the top of the group. Then, I see Leipzig finishing second. For the third place of the group, I think Zenit is better equipped than Benfica to be dropped into the Europa League. As competitors, we always want to win and we will do everything to finish first.

Zenit? It's a big club, we've seen that in the past. Anyway, at this level, there are only big teams. We do this job to play such games and be able to compete against this kind of opposition. In any case, I'm happy to face them because we will see Emanuel (Mammana). He's here and he's a great guy. He left a great memory and players who have been around him are very happy to re-encounter him.

Yes, we can do great thigs in Champions League this season, because all players belonging to our group are very talented. We have a very good squad. Anyone can make the difference, when the coach asks for it at any time. I have no worries about that. I have a lot of confidence in us".
