Commenting upon CL debut 2-0 win over no less than Liverpool, Napoli boss, Carlo Ancelotti, stated: "We beat the Reds last year as well, but then we didn't manage to make it through the group. We want to achieve that this time around. We mustn't rest on our laurels. We'll need to replicate the concentration that we showed tonight in our upcoming games.

We've won a match that I'd define as 'edgy'. We needed to try to win it, but at the same time try not to lose. The team expressed itself very well with this dual mentality. I saw quality out there and I saw sacrifices as well. That's the only way to beat the European champions.

I really liked the way the team played towards the end, because after 80 hard-fought minutes, we didn't stop believing. We stood firm and both defended and countered well without doing anything silly. The rhythm throughout the game was very fast-paced.

I brought Llorente on to give us more physicality and a direct option at a crucial point in the match. He provided the perfect response. There's so much quality and potential in this squad, as I've been saying for a while now, both technically and as individuals. We have to find that consistency and the right mentality to be able to transfer that into every game. We have a great squad that can make the fans happy, but we always have to be on our toes, believe and never give up".
