As unveiled by Corriere della Sera, Inter Milan top brass played a relevant role in Luciano Spalletti not joining the other side of the city,  and start training AC Milan. While turning Rossoneri down on their request to decrease the 12 million euros exit fee set upon him, Neroazzurri refuse to just reduce the time extent of their ongoing contract with him, lasting until June 2021: Spalletti wanted the whole working year covered, Inter would have stopped paying him mid-season. Therefore, Inter let him hanging, by telling him to either resign or renounce.
