In spite of a strong start of his, obviously blocked out by Italian league suspension, Lecce management, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, are puzzled over buying 28-year old attacking midfielder Riccardo Saponara back from Fiorentina, since deeming the 4 million euros fee set upon former AC Milan, Sampdoria and Genoa playmaker too high. Salentini might be instead forced to buy 29-year old Brazilian forward Diego Farias back from Cagliari, despite the latter's 2019/20 run having been riddled with injuries, on the €4.5m agreed upon, since the latter's permanent move was set as mandatory as long as the club had avoided relegation, a circumstance likely to occur by default.
