After a long, even excruciating negotiation, Belgian international winger/forward Dries Mertens (32) seems to have once and for all come to terms over a new deal of his with Napoli. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Azzurri owner Aurelio De Laurentiis agreed on every detail, during a seaside lunch, dating back to two weeks ago. Still tracked by many clubs around, Mertens, playing for Napoli since 2013/14, has been granted a position in the club, after he quits playing. The 2-year long extension agreed upon is set to be unveiled after the ongoing pandemy-related break is over.
