In response to many people manifesting bafflement and anger over PSG and Brazilian NT centre-back and captain Thiago Silva (35) having flown back to his home country, together with his family, despite the ongoing pandemic emergency, the player's wife, Isabelle, released and Instagram statement:

"We decided to leave because things are dismal in Paris, right now. I couldn't find any food in supermarkets and stores. Besides, we can dispose of more options for the kids here in Brazil. We even have a pool here. Anyway, no one from our family showed us any of the flu symptoms".
