BAYERN MUNICH, Boateng: "I'm ok with being fined, I did it for my son"

Interviewed by Bild, German centre-back Jerome Boateng (31), commenting upon having been sanctioned and fined by Bayern Munich, on the account of having left the city, outlined his point of view: "I'm ok with the club's decision, as long as it's backed up by a solid motivation. Nonetheless, I think what's happened is flat out sad. I know I should have notified the club, but I was exclusively focused on my son's health. He wasn't okay, and I just moved to reach out to him. It doesn't matter the time: when a son calls, his dad is there for him. I'm ok with any fine, as long as it's for something I did for my son. Besides, I wonder who wouldn't have done the same, in my position".
