BENFICA, Weigl: "I couldn't wait to join PSG, but..."

Playing for Benfica (whose team bus was recently attacked by a violent fringe of so-called supporters of theirs) since last January, German defensive midfielder Julian Weigl (24), interviewed by Süddeutsche Zeitung, talked about having missed joining Paris Saint-Germain: "About a year before joining Benfica, I was reached out by a great PSG offer, and I couldn't wait to accept. Borussia Dortmund, however, got any opening on the negotiations shut. I understood why they did. though: odds we won Bundesliga were kind of low, and the defensive department was listing a lot of injured players".
