Guarding Paris Saint-Germain goal and poles from 2001 to 2008, Jerome Alonzo, interviewed by L'Equipe, talked about the club parting ways with Brazilian international centre-back and first-team captain Thiago Silva (35): "It's only due to a wage-related matter. Thiago's one wasn't cheap, at all; plus, like it or not, he's the living proof of PSG failing Champions League, all eight years long he's been in. It's ok to turn the page, though now the club need to replace him". Linked to an AC Milan move back, Silva has allegedly been inquired about by Everton.
