Asked by radio broadcast Europa 1 about the ongoing financial troubles and the sanction imposed by UEFA, Olympique Marseille chairman Jacques-Henri Eyraud stated:

"We won't be signing our top players away. We've been building a team capable to bring our colours back to the top rankings four years long, through massive outlays. And we went through both delights and failures. We've been playing an Europa League final match, and now we're back into the Champions League realms. All in all, by adopting a viable financial plan, we'll be able to keep in Mandanda, Thauvin, and Payet".
