Hollywood stars Natalie PORTMAN and Eva LONGORIA start new WNSL club

29.07.2020 10.31 by Claudio Colla  read 438

Hollywood star and Oscar winner Natalie Portman, together with colleagues Eva Longoria, Jennifer Garner, America Ferrera, Uzo Aduba, entrepreneurs Kara Nortman and Julie Uhrman, former USA women's football national prominent members Mia Hamm, Abby Wambach, Lauren Holiday, Julie Foudy, and tennis star Serena Williams (together with her husband, Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian, and, of course as a symbolic gesture, their 2-year old daughter, Olympia), is starting a new WNSL club, Los Angeles-based one Angel City, meant to start fending in 2022.

Commenting upon such venture, Portman said: "It's a girl-power revolution. Hearing my children asking me to wear Megan Rapinoe's and Alex Morgan's jerseys is nothing like before. I've always been a soccer enthusiast, and now I want to be part of it, by sending the message no one makes it by herself. A player's success is the team's success. Our Los Angeles-based team are going to have a huge impact on our town community".
