FREIBURG, Grifo: "I turned down both Fiorentina and Lazio in the past"

Recently scoring his first two goals for Italian NT, 27-year attacking midfielder/winger Vincenzo Grifo, interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, stated: "I'd leave Freiburg for a thorough plan, not just as it's something due to happen. I could have moved out twice, at least, but I made myself the promise I wouldn't have done anything on a hurry drive. When you're intending to leave, you need to know there's a manager who believes in you, ready to welcome you in. Never say never, anyway. Fiorentina? Yes, I turned them down in summer 2019, then they picked Ribery and Boateng. Besides, Lazio wanted me in when I was 18. But I was very young, and I decided to stay close to my family. So we chose Hoffenheim, which were close to home".
