Playing for OGC Nice since early February, on a loan spell, 21-year old French centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo, still on a parent-club deal with Barcelona FC until June 2023, stated: "I don't know whether it's going to be possible, but my main aim, right now, is staying put, and keeping on playing for Nice. And I'm going to make my performing count. What about what's going on at Barça? Honestly, I don't care. I watch their games, sometimes, because Dembelé, Umtiti, and Lenglet, who are all friends of mine, are there. But that's it. Now I'm fully devoted to Nice, not to Barcelona. What would be the point of dreaming to play for Barça, when you have to focus on Rennes, or Nimes?".
