KUFFOUR retires

Ghanaian central defender Samuel Kuffour (32) has decided to retire from competition. He recently rejected offers from Qatar and Russia; last season he was with Dutch club Ajax after failing to impress at AS Roma since 2005. Kuffour is best known for his long and successful career in Germany with Bayern Munich.
