Bayern Munich have been hit by a new Covid-19 concern ahead of their match against Augsburg on Friday, with defender Josip Stanisic and two club employees testing positive.

Stanisic, who has been completely vaccinated, tested positive after playing in Croatia's 1-0 victory over Russia on Sunday, when the 2018 runners-up qualified for next year's World Cup.

The three new infections have been confirmed just one day after Bayern Munich players Joshua Kimmich, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Serge Gnabry, and Jamal Musiala were released from quarantine.

The four made contact with Niklas Suele, a defender who tested positive for Covid last week and is still in isolation.

The latest incidents have further disrupted Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann's preparations, after he was sidelined for four games at the end of last month after catching Covid.
