BUNDESLIGA - Bayern Munich, Kahn comments upon A-list renewals
Commenting upon both Bayern Munich starlets Joshua Kimmich (in the pic above) and Leon Goretzka extending their ongoing deals with the club, Die Roten CEO Oliver Kahn stated:
"These are important signals for their teammates as well. When two important players extend their contracts over the long term, it's something spreading to the team as well as to other teams in Europe. You can tell from the appearance of the team at the moment, that there are many small pieces of the mosaic that go well together.
Players are convinced by the fact that they have the opportunity to play all of the titles in a club every year. If you look at the mentality of the players, it's not for nothing that you become champions nine times in a row. You need players who want to prove themselves again and again and always want to go one better.
We looked at the successful teams of the past few years. There was always an axis of stable players, and that is our goal now too. We have certainly learned that from the past".
