Talking out during the press conference following Leon Goretzka extending his ongoing deal for Bayern Munich, Bundesliga giants head of football, Hasan Salihamidzic, stated:
"We have our philosophy, and we talk every day about how we can consolidate this team. Of course, you keep one eye on what the other teams are doing. But we know what our players can do and that's where the focus is. We started the season well. That's why we're very satisfied at the moment.
Leon is a cornerstone for our team. After the extension with Kimmich, this is really a strong sign both internally and externally. The two players are the heart and soul of our team, and with that we want to send a message. Leon’s qualities are well known. That's why I'm very happy".
