LIGA - Barcelona: Joan Laporta targets 3 big stars in 2022

The summer has not been very easy for the Barcelona fans. In addition to having lost Lionel Messi when everything initially indicated that he was going to stay, the Catalan supporters had to see how the other big European teams were getting stronger from everywhere, while their club of hearts had to be content with arrivals at zero price.

Depay is certainly efficient, just like Eric Garcia already has some playing time, but the Kun Agüero has not yet started, Luuk de Jong does not convince everyone, while Emerson, the only paying "recruit", was sold to Tottenham in the aftermath.

In short, a very calm and above all very sober transfer window. This summer downsizing - 145 million euros in payroll was released and more than 100 million euros were collected on departures - however, puts the club on the right path financially, with a payroll that has passed from 110% of the budget to an amount between 70 and 80% of it, which will also be higher than expected for this season: 765 million euros. A major project which is therefore progressing well, and which should allow the Blaugrana to quickly be competitive again.

As Mundo Deportivo indicates, the Blaugrana boss wants to treat himself to three galactic players next summer. These three players are none other than Dani Olmo, Erling Haaland and Paul Pogba. At the same time, he will continue to work to lower the wage bill (up to 65%) and increase income.

The Spanish attacking midfielder Dani Olmo, the former La Masia graduate is the easiest to manage, since he had already said yes this winter, being even ready to receive less money than in Leipzig. But the Germans did not give the green light to a departure, while the discussions were well advanced.

For the Norwegian striker, this has been a priority goal for Joan Laporta from the start. His release clause will be € 90million in June, so the Catalans know what to expect, even if Mino Raiola's demands risk cooling it all down. The Barcelona president believes, however, to be able to convince the striker and wants to play his friendship with the sulphurous Italian agent.

As for Pogba, also a client of Raiola, Barça knows that he will have competition but considers that he can enlist him if he is still in the same contractual situation, with his contract which expires in 2022.
