LIGA - Ramos discloses why he left Real Madrid

Real Madrid held an emotional farewell for their captain on Thursday. Following many rumors surrounding Ramos’s future, it was officially announced that the last season was the ending station of his career at Real Madrid. But it seems the 35-year-old defender is not content with the club’s decision: “I must clarify that I never wanted to leave. I wanted to stay here.  I even accepted the one-year offer, but the club informed me that it was no longer possible,” he said. “The club had offered a one-year deal with a lower salary, but they never told me that their offer had an expiry date. It surprised me that the offer had expired,” Ramos continued. However, he still admires Perez: “My relationship with the president has always been good. He was like a father to me. He brought me here and I'll never say anything against him,” said Ramos.

Ramos spent 16 years at Santiago Bernabéu and played 671 games for Los Blancos.
