Man United and Arsenal are reportedly involved in a three-way chase with Sevilla in the battle to add midfielder Boubacar Kamara. It bodes well for the Gunners, which have faced major backlash due to their market strategy.

Although the Gunners have not shied away from investing a fortune in the market, the lack of a proper midfield setup, among several other issues, has left the London giants languishing at the bottom of the PL table during the international break.

Man United’s woes in the midfield department, meanwhile, have already been well-documented. Despite an exciting transfer window that saw them snap up Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, English winger Jadon Sancho and French defender Raphael Varane, there is a growing belief that the lack of a quality defensive midfielder could derail the Red Devils’ title charge this season.

The signing of the Frenchman, in that regard, could serve as a long-term fix. Kamara, who is known for his work ethic and ability to read the game, could prove to be a perfect replacement for the ageing Nemanja Matic while providing an alternative to Fred and Scott McTominay.

However, with Sevilla also interested, both Red Devils and Arsenal must move swiftly if the clubs are to get their hands on the Marseille midfielder anytime soon. Boubacar is not their only option either, though, with the teams also being linked with a winter swoop for Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma.
