LIGUE 1 - With the return of the public, the shortage of stewards is a problem
After the incident which led to the interruption and then the cancellation of big match of the 14th matchday of Ligue 1 between Olympique Lyonnais and Olympique de Marseille, the question of the shortage of security agents poses a problem.
According to information from Progress, OL struggled to assemble nearly 800 stewards for the game, and had to go through three companies and subcontractors to manage the security of a Groupama Stadium in more than 58,000 places.
The regional daily adds that the stewards would have reconverted and would have changed jobs during the coronavirus pandemic, which had led to a total closed door of the stadiums in France for more than a year.
In addition, these professionals now need 160 hours of training to have the Professional Qualification Certificate, useful for working in a large area but less suitable for working in sports arenas.
