Following Neymar's announcement to retire internationally after the 2022 World Cup, Brazilian Paris Saint-Germain striker Neymar Jr has been the target of several criticisms regarding his choice, especially in Brazil.

Indeed, despite the coronation at the 2016 Olympic Games with the Seleçao, the international with 113 selections (69 goals) has still not won a major tournament, after having been very close this summer by losing in the final of the Copa América against Argentina of his teammate at PSG Lionel Messi.

But former French international Franck Leboeuf defends the Brazilian's decision, given the pressure he has been under since the start of his international career. On the Téléfoot set on Sunday, the 2018 World champion considers that:

Neymar, he's been pro for 12 years. Before that, for 10 years as he was touted as the next big thing. He's been under pressure for 22 years, so we can understand why he wants to move on."
