Entering the game during Algeria's 6-1 triumph against Niger, Islam Slimani (33) scored his first goal in this match barely 10 minutes after entering the game, thanks to a beautiful assist from Youcef Atal (5-1, 76th).
Before the finish of the match, the striker of Olympique Lyonnais scored a double for the 6-1 (88th) goal, giving him his 38th goal with the Algerian national team.
With these 38 goals, Islam Slimani became Algeria's all-time leading scorer on Friday evening. His double puts him ahead of Abdelhafid Tasfaout, a Fennecs offensive midfielder who scored 36 goals between 1990 and 2002, and Rabah Madjer (28 goals).
