The Mexican Olympic football team is set to face Brazil once more in the Olympic Games, after El Tri beat the Amazonian Nation in the Games in London in 2012 in a thrilling final.

Brazil is seeking vengeance, but this time around the two countries will face off in a semi-final that will guarantee a medal to the winner, either Gold or Silver. Both teams have had good performances in Tokyo, with Brazil winning all its games and Mexico only losing to a surprising Japanese team in the group stage. Mexico could face Japan again in the final if they manage to beat the Brazilians, which is no small feat.

The manager, Jimmy Lozano, seems to have a clear idea on the starting eleven that will play in the semifinal. Carlos Rodriguez comes back from a 1-game suspension after he picked up a red card in the last game of the group stage against South Africa; Jesus Angulo will replace Jorge Sanchez at rrght-back. Betis player Diego Lainez will once again start from the bench as Lozano likes what he's seen out of Uriel Antuna this far. Mexico's starting lineup will then look as follows:
Guillermo Ochoa
Jesús Angulo
Johan Vásquez
César Montes
Vladimir Loroña
Luis Romo
Charly Rodríguez
Sebastián Córdova
Alexis Vega
Henry Martin
Uriel Antuna
