At 74, Dutch coach Guus Hiddink has decided to put an end to his career as he revealed during his appearance on Dutch television SBS 6: “Lately, with the pandemic, I haven't worked a lot. I spoke with the president of the Federation of Curaçao and we decided to stop our collaboration. But I'm going to stop totally. I'm not going to do like Dick Advocaat (note: who quit six months before resuming).”

Semi-finalist of the 1998 World Cup with the Netherlands but also of the 2002 World Cup with South Korea, Hiddink also managed to reach the last four of Euro 2008 with Russia. In club, he distinguished himself with a title at the European Cup of Champions Clubs in 1988 with PSV Eindhoven or an FA Cup on the Chelsea bench in 2009 and an Intercontinental Cup with Real Madrid in 1998.
