Aston Villa sacks coach Dean Smith, Board thanks Dean
Through a press release, Aston Villa formalized the dismissal of its English coach Dean Smith, two days after the defeat at Southampton (2-0). The Villains are going through a complicated period in the league this season, currently 17th in the Premier League. The streak of 5 consecutive defeats and the elimination of the English League Cup by Chelsea did not work in favor of the West Bromwich native, who had brought the club back into the top flight after his debut season in 2019 and had managed to maintain the Birmingham club thereafter.
