The Newcastle fan who collapsed while watching the club’s Premier League match against Tottenham was discharged from hospital on Tuesday.
Medics in the crowd rushed to help the elderly supporter, later named by the club as 80-year-old Alan Smith, after he suffered a cardiac arrest at St James’ Park on Sunday, October 17.
Tottenham players Eric Dier and Sergio Reguilon were praised for alerting referee Andre Marriner, who stopped the game.
🙌 We are delighted to report that Alan Smith, the supporter who was taken ill during our home fixture against Spurs, has now been discharged from hospital!
