Ismael Bennacer was one of Milan's most prominent players last season, with the Algerian footballer playing a fundamental role in helping the rossonero team led by Italian coach Stefano Pioli to qualify for the Champions League group stage after several years of absence, in what has undoubtedly been the Algerian footballer's best campaign since he arrived at San Siro from Empoli in 2019.

However, the continuity of Kessie and Sandro Tonali have caused a radical change in the role that Bennacer has in this team, having only enjoyed 369 minutes of play spread over nine official matches, in which he has only started in three of them, which reveals the at least temporary loss of confidence on the part of the aforementioned Pioli, who in that double rossonero pivot does not find a place for the 23-year-old footballer.

With a contract until 2024, Bennacer's future does not seem to be in danger at least for the moment, since if the Algerian footballer's situation continues throughout this season, the rumors about his possible departure from San Siro would gain strength, with several teams such as Juventus of Turin or Atlético de Madrid as one of the most interested in taking over the services of the young Algerian midfielder.
